If you want to set your goals for your project effectively, then you should be working towards goals where you are in control of the outcome.
For example – Send 5 emails this week as opposed to close 5 people on email. Talk to 5 strangers about my products/services as opposed to get 5 strangers to become clients
There are times when things are not always going to go the way we planned. By journalling you are giving situations you encounter in life a fresh perspective which will help you not only complete projects faster but also make you feel awesome every day!!!
Honouring the journey – The Activity
Writing in a journal reminds you of your goals and of your learning in life. It offers a place where you can hold a deliberate, thoughtful conversation with yourself.
Robin S. Sharma
Let’s start to honour the journey
STEP 1 – Choose one location to journal in. It is so tempting to look for the latest website/technology, but what I find is that if it’s hard to remember, it’s locked up with a complicated password system then this will stop you from using it. I personally use Microsoft’s OneNote and I have it on my phone. I have tried so many before and found OneNote to be the easiest for me. Being dyspraxic after a while my hand hurts from handwriting so that is why I prefer typing. However, if I do want to write, perhaps changing my pen-holding technique may help
Step 2 – Decide how often you are going to write in it, the minimum is once a week. And I personally find it effective to do it before bed as I reflect on the day and can stop all those thoughts I have from keeping me up at night. This method works for me, so whatever you decide is best for you, the only rule is to put it in your calendar and make it a regular!
Step 3 – Remember three good things that happened – things that went well, that you enjoyed or were grateful for… “I started using journals to express my gratitude —and watched my blessings multiply. What you focus on expands.” Oprah (billionaire, just saying)
